Bone, 9ct gold.
The Golden Bones collection is based upon the elevating of bone and the marriage of bone and 9ct gold. Each bone was collected whilst beach combing in Cumbria, UK.
Delicate shapes and natural fissures are mirrored, filled, repaired and accentuated with 9ct gold. A gentle reflection upon what remains after life, on the marks that our lives leave, and the echoes of a life once it has ended.
Each item has been collected after the life, death and decomposition has occurred naturally and therefore illicits minimal interruption to the biosphere from which they were collected.
Along with Drift, Ebb, and Flotsam; Golden Bones is part of an exploratory project into tides as a metaphor for mood disorder.
